I've been playing Brutal Doom. More fun than a lot of FPSes today.
What happened to FPSes? They got slowed down for console controllers. The FPS belongs to the mouse.
Zod, Bethesda (Zenimax) is capable of producing multiple titles at once and it's not one studio. Dishonored isn't even made by Bethesda. They (again, Zenimax) just publish it. (it was also successful)

The economy has been struggling for years. And games just keep selling fine.
So many of these studies think mobile devices are taking over consoles/PCs, I just can't see that happening. Who would give up big screen gaming for mobile gaming?
Unless the mobile device becomes the medium from which you use as a controller that communicates and streams with a new generation of TVs. And I think that is a good time away before that works/is powerful enough to destroy consoles. Even then, that's just those businesses shifting. It's irrelevant to ...

finals, if COST is the issue here, then one has no business being a 'DAY 1! DAY 1!' buyer. I wait for sales for most games. Whether back with console or now with PC. The sales come faster on PC with cheaper prices.

I'm very certain that I spent way more on my PS3 in the long run, acquiring games, than I did on my PC. As in, a short time, I acquired a huge PC library (that I get to keep and is forwards compatible) for not a lot of money compared to what I spent with PS3 and got way less games out of it.
